This is a really sensible change. I remember participating in this sort of ranking at IBM and Bell Labs years ago and it never made any sense. If you read the memo included in the post, you see the move towards "collaboration" of a new type; you get credit for "leveraging" other people's ideas. Kind of like the internet...
